This WNBC/Marist Poll of New York State reports:

·                 New York State’s voters divide over whether or not they want Hillary Clinton to run for president in 2008:  When asked about Senator Clinton’s potential presidential candidacy in 2008, 49% of registered voters would like to see her run.  44% do not want her to enter the presidential sweepstakes, and 7% are unsure.  In January, 41% of New Yorkers wanted her to run for president in 2008.

·                 Most New Yorkers think Hillary Clinton will, in fact, run for president in 2008:  60% of New York State’s registered voters think Hillary Clinton will run for president in 2008.

·                 But many New Yorkers don’t think Hillary Clinton will win the presidency:  Should Hillary Clinton decide to run for president in 2008, 66% of New York State’s registered voters do not think it is likely she will be elected, including 57% of Democrats.

·                 A majority of New Yorkers want Rudy Giuliani to make a run for president:  51% of New York State’s registered voters want former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani to make a run for the country’s top post in 2008.  43% do not want him to enter the presidential contest, and 6% are unsure.

·                 Rudy Giuliani has New Yorkers guessing about his future plans:  45% of registered voters think Rudy Giuliani will make a run for the White House in 2008, and 41% do not think he will.  14% are unsure.
